Cuppa Flower - Sydney's Next Most Instagrammable Cafe?!

With more people than ever eating out for breakfast & brunch in Australia, there is now a new rivalry between Melbourne & Sydney - Brunch-wars are in full force and Sydney has turned up the heat with an amazing array of aesthetically pleasing cafes for Sydneysiders to try out!

In this post I'm going to take you through my experience at one of my new favorite cafes - Cuppa Flower!

Ricotta pancakes with maple syrup, strawberries, kiwi fruit, honeycomb & of course, flowers!

After returning from a holiday overseas last year I was on a mission to fall in love with Sydney again as a cure for my holiday blues and one of the ways I'd determined I would do this was by discovering new cafes & restaurants to try out at home.

So when I stumbled upon Cuppa Flower via Instagram (the "gram" has become my go to platform for discovering new places!) I added it to my list and within a week a friend & I had arrived at their Waterloo cafe very excited and hungry!

The menu is always the most traumatic part of eating out for me as I have a really hard time deciding what to order - I want to eat all of the food and have FOMO! Usually for brunch my go to is avocado toast however I'd decided I was going to branch out and try something new for once!

Being summer-time ordering an iced coffee (I got the Iced Mocha) was easy yet I couldn't choose between the Ricotta Pancakes and the Granola & Fruit plate - so I decided to order both. And this is where food heaven begins....

In about 10 minutes out comes the food and I was in shock - never before have I seen food so beautifully & creatively presented... the cafe is called Cuppa Flower so no surprises that edible flowers were thoughtfully placed on the dishes as you can see in the photos:

I tried the Ricotta pancakes first and they were amazing, light & fluffy and topped with honeycomb pieces. The granola & fruit plate was definitely my favorite meal of the two. One of these meals will be more than enough for one person - so if you are with friends I'd recommend you order a few dishes so you can try the different meals, which is what we did.

Cuppa Flower isn't just a café, it's also a florist as well so there's even more of a reason to visit if you aren't convinced by the food photos!

I'd describe the décor as slightly rustic & feminine - the café is also open with large windows so it feels bright and relaxing.

Arriving just before noon we were able to grab a table right out the front of the cafe, inside was already busy with only a couple of tables available and we noticed these quickly filled up.

One thing to keep in mind is to grab your table first if you're with a group and it's busy, then you will need to go up to the counter to order your food as although they bring out the menu to you, you will need to walk up to the counter to place your order.

By the time we were almost finished there was a small line out the front with a couple of groups waiting for tables, so I'd recommend you get there early.

Having said that even the wait would be worth it - I found the service was very good, the flowers were beautiful and the food was creatively presented, delicious & fresh.

Cuppa Flower is located at 1/15 Allen St, Waterloo NSW 2017
